The Atlantic Balloon Fiesta
I had the opportunity to visit the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta this year, in Sussex, NB. I went for the first flight on Thursday evening and the morning launch the next day. Wind for the evening was a bit too much to fly, sending the basket of the balloon that tried for a spin. I learned, if there's enough wind to fly a flag then it's too much for the balloons - 10 knots or more to be specific.
In the morning I had a bit more luck. The weather was beautiful and they launched at sunrise. After they took off, I chased them around, but I was surprised at how short the flights were.
